The one where the war on obesity is fought with bullets.

TiTP’s FAQ:

No one here is making a moral judgement about weight-loss.

No one at TiTP is making a moral judgement about weight loss. They merely “mourn every fat person who loses weight”. They just say “reducing the population of fat people" and "the eradication of people like you" as though they didn’t know the difference between weight loss and genocide.

TiTP, you do know the difference between weight loss and genocide, right?

thisisthinprivilege:

TP deniers, if they’re smart enough to live in a general state of reality, will tend to concede that fat people experience the bottom level.

They absolutely refuse to believe that a vast majority of fat people experience level 2, 3 or 4.

And of course, that vast majority knows the truth, whether thin people choose to acknowledge it or not.

But let’s give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe when TiTP says that fat people are two-thirds of the way to genocide, they don’t mean that there’s an actual genocide brewing.

thisisthinprivilege:

There is no obesity without fat people. By saying obesity is a disease, you’re saying fat people are diseased, which is a tiny semantic leap from saying FAT PEOPLE ARE A DISEASE.

Are you concerned yet? Because you should be.

Historically, genocidaires have dehumanized targeted groups by depicting them as animals, vermin, insects, diseases, or tumors. This rhetoric constructs a narrative which justifies the “cleansing” of society. The mass murder of a people or peoples is facilitated through this process.

Think this is way off in left field? Fat people are told to mutilate their healthy stomachs to become thin. When they do, far too many die or suffer terrible consequences demonstrably worse than any conditions correlated with fatness. Fat women are told they shouldn’t get pregnant, which is a shame-based form of social sterilization. Fat people are rarely portrayed positively in media, if they’re portrayed at all, a direct method of dehumanization.

And now, the AMA says fat people are diseased.

A terrific read on the cultural history of fatness, including the framework for it being a moral panic and how deep the roots of fat stigma go, is reviewed here.

OH MY GOD JUST STOP IT. YOU ARE LITERALLY QUOTING A WEBSITE ABOUT THE CAMBODIAN GENOCIDE AND COMPARING IT TO DISCRIMINATION AGAINST FAT PEOPLE. STOP IT STOP IT

The mods eventually admitted that this is indeed “way off in left field” and edited the post. The original is reblogged here and here.

TiTP moderator Fatanarchy reblogged the pyramid of hate to her personal blog and added a list of things fat people experience “specifically because of their body”. That list includes terrorism.

sjeyeroll:

Really? Really? Are you fucking kidding me? Fat people, specifically, are targets of terrorism? As in, they’re not just victims of terrorism, they are the actual targets?

fatanarchy:

All this does is prove that you don’t know the definition of terrorism. Congratulations.
